About Us

About Zorudena

We are a feminist/youth-led community-based organization (CBO) registered with the Zombo District Local Government as a nonprofit entity with a core mission to empower vulnerable communities through education, skills training, and socio-economic development initiatives.

Since 2019, when we increased our efforts in response to the growing number of vulnerable youth—especially teenage moms and out-of-school children who were disproportionately impacted by the socioeconomic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change—we have been serving our communities.

Our programs have helped more than 3000 vulnerable women and young people. To improve lives in last-mile areas like Nyapea and Alangi Sub-counties, we have increased the scope of our initiatives. The quality of life for our people has improved throughout time. That is our objective throughout West Nile, not only in Zombo District.

Who We serve

Vulnerable children and adolescents, adolescent moms, and young people who either lack access to formal education or dropped out due to poverty or early pregnancies are our main target beneficiaries. The territories of Alangi Sub-county, Nyapea Sub-county, Zeu Sub-county, and Paidha Sub-county comprise approximately 65% of the Zombo District. Reaching out to numerous communities in the Zombo District is still at the core of our goal and vision.

Our projects offer training in various skill areas based on local market needs and beneficiary interests, including but not limited to tailoring and garment design, hairdressing and beauty therapy, microcredit services to vulnerable women, and climate-friendly initiatives in Zombo District. Many young people and women lack access to sustainable income opportunities .We Provide vocational and entrepreneurship training ,Support access to microfinance and small business mentorship. Families gain stable incomes, local businesses grow, and communities reduce poverty dependency. Climate change and deforestation threaten livelihoods and ecosystems .We promote Tree-planting and reforestation projects ,Promote sustainable farming and eco-friendly practices .These have led to restored ecosystems, healthier environments, and stronger resilience against climate shocks. Limited access to quality education and awareness programs keeps communities from reaching their potential,We offer literacy and skills training programs .We run awareness campaigns on health, civic rights, and social inclusion.Young people are equipped with knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions and lead their communities.
